The Adalaj Collection
"Adalaj" is a beautiful ancient stepwell built in 1498 in a dry neighbourhood near Ahmedabad. I first visited Adalaj as a design student 20 years ago and was captivated by its architectural beauty and the story of Rani Rudabai, who had it built despite all her hardships. Rani Rudabai's story is one of courage, resilience and deep empathy for her people. For me, it is a story of #womentakingcharge!
